IN AN AREA OF OUTSTANDING  NATURAL BEAUTY WADDLER'S REST IS SITUATED, THESE TOWN   AND VILLAGES ARE ALL WITHIN 5 AND 12 MILES OF MUNDESLEY.

North Walsham Lord Nelson spent his schooldays at Paston School.The 16th century market cross is the focal point of the town. Although the town is now home of the Districts biggest manufacturing companies, the town is nonetheless rich in historic buildings, and set just minutes from the  broads in one direction and the sea in the other. Market day is on Thursday in the High Street.

Sidestrand The hamlet of Sidestrand hugs the coastal road. located in a area of outstanding natural beauty with a coastline which is truly stunning. It is believed that the name Sidestrand originated  from the Old English Sid - broad, spacious and the Danish Stronde - shore. The village is forever immortalized as Poppyland, due to the writings of Victorian journalist Clement Scott.

Overstrand There's something about the village of Overstrand that brings the term 'suburbia' to ones mind Bungalows, with neat colourful gardens, flank the main road, Deeper into the village you will find little traffic.Back in the past the village was once a fishing village and this tradition still continues but on a much smaller scale.Nowadays the village has slipped back into anonymity and take a form of a quite holiday resort with good sandy beaches.

Wroxham Barns 10 miles from Mundesley is the 'must visit' for all the family - whatever your age.For stylish cloths, gifts for home and garden, country foods, Bill LeGice Roses & Plant Centre, Junior Farm, Children  Funfair, 11 Craft Studios and table service restaurant, it's well worth a visit.

Wroxham Is considered to be, and has been called, the capital of the Norfolk Broads and is where boating holidays started in the late 1800's. It has become quite commercialized over the years with hotels,tea rooms and gift shops springing up  near the river to attract holidaymaker so the village.It has a good selection of tea shop, cafes and restaurants.

Horning Staithe Situated along the banks of the River Bure, in the heart of Broadland, the village of Horning is some 12 miles from Mundesley. The picturesque village, whose origin dates back to Roman times, consists of a mixture of shops, boat yards and thatched cottages. Along the banks of the river are several luxurious  riverside properties. Cromer Home to the only UK's only remaining traditional end of pier variety show. Fresh crab sandwiches and salads can be sampled in many of the town's pubs and restaurants. Mary Jane Norfolks best fish and chip shop and restaurant can be found on one of  cromers cobbled street.This magnificent church St Peter & St Paul was given permission to build in1337 by King Edward III the church was finished in 1437. In the 17th and 18th centuries the church went into decay and was rebuilt between 1863 and 1888. It is perpendicular in style and has the highest tower in Norfolk 160 feet.This impressive St Peter & St Paul church is always open and visitors are welcome.
